13) George Buchanan

George Buchanan PC (1890 – 1955). Scottish patternmaker, trade union activist, and Member of Parliament.

- "He stands up erect, well-dressed, with his left hand in his pocket, and his right fist high above his red head, mouth wide open, facing his audience, with directness of gesture."

 - "The following morning Ellen arrived early and took her seat next to George Buchanan, the radical Scottish MP, who, like her, had hair as red as his politics."
