812) Polina Zhemchuzhina

Polina Semyonovna Zhemchuzhina (born Perl Semyonovna Karpovskaya; 1897 – 1970). Soviet politician and the wife of the Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov. Zhemchuzhina was the director of the Soviet national cosmetics trust from 1932 to 1936, Minister of Fisheries in 1939, and head of textiles production in the Ministry of Light Industry from 1939 to 1948.
In 1949, Zhemchuzhina was arrested by the Soviet secret police, charged with treason, and sent into internal exile. After the death of Stalin in March 1953, she was released from captivity by Lavrentiy Beria and reunited with her husband. Her first question upon her release was "How's Stalin?" Upon being told he had died only days before, she fainted.
Happily and lovingly reunited, Polina Zhemchuzhina and her husband lived in the Granovsky apartment block near the Kremlin. She died of natural causes in 1970.

811) Leni Riefenstahl

Helene Bertha Amalie "Leni" Riefenstahl (1902 – 2003). German film director and actress.
In the 1930s, she directed the Nazi propaganda films Triumph des Willens ("Triumph of the Will") and Olympia, resulting in worldwide attention and acclaim. Her involvement in Triumph des Willens, however, significantly damaged her career and reputation after the war. The exact nature of her relationship with National-Socialist Party leader Adolf Hitler remains a matter of debate.
After the war, Riefenstahl was arrested, but classified as being a "fellow traveler" or "Nazi sympathizer" only and was not associated with war crimes. Besides directing, Riefenstahl released an autobiography and wrote several books on the Nuba people.

Svevo left Trieste's Jewish community to marry Livia Veneziani in a civil ceremony. Soonly after, Livia convinced him to convert to Catholicism and take part in a religious wedding (probably after a troublesome pregnancy). Personally, however, Svevo was an atheist.

His father was the landscape and genre painter William Collins and his older brother was the novelist Wilkie Collins.
Collins met John Everett Millais and became influenced by the ideas of the Pre-Raphaelites. Millais proposed that he should become a member of the Brotherhood, but Thomas Woolner and William Michael Rossetti objected, so he never became an official member.
In the late 1850s he abandoned art to follow his brother into a writing career. His most successful literary works were humorous essays collected together under the title The Eye Witness (1860).
Collins married Charles Dickens's daughter Kate in 1860, and later was engaged to illustrate Dickens' unfinished novel The Mystery of Edwin Drood. He completed the cover but was too ill to do the rest. He died from cancer in 1873.
