712) Philip II of Spain

Philip II (1527 – 1598). King of Spain (1556–98), King of Portugal (1581–98, as Philip I, Filipe I), King of Naples and Sicily (both from 1554), and jure uxoris King of England and Ireland (during his marriage to Queen Mary I from 1554–58). He was also Duke of Milan. From 1555 he was lord of the Seventeen Provinces of the Netherlands.
The son of Holy Roman Emperor and King of Spain Charles V and Isabella of Portugal, Philip was called "Felipe el Prudente" ("Philip the Prudent") in Spain; his empire included territories on every continent then known to Europeans, including his namesake the Philippines. During his reign, Spain reached the height of its influence and power. This is sometimes called the Spanish Golden Age.
His first wife was Maria Manuela of Portugal. His second wife was Mary I of England. His fourth wife was Elisabeth of Valois, from whom he had Isabella Clara Eugenia. His fourth wife was his niece Anna of Austria, from whom he had Philip III.

582) Cecilia Renata of Austria

Archduchess Cecilia Renata of Austria (1611 – 1644). Queen of Poland as the wife of King Władysław IV Vasa. She was the daughter of Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor, of the House of Habsburg, and Maria Anna of Bavaria. Sister of Ferdinand III. Mother of Sigismund Casimir.

552) Anne of Austria, Queen of Poland

Anne of Austria, Queen of Poland (1573 – 1598). Queen consort of Poland and Sweden by marriage to King Sigismund III Vasa.
She was a daughter of Charles II of Austria (son of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor and Anna of Bohemia) and Maria Anna of Bavaria (she too was a granddaughter of Ferdinand I and Anna of Bohemia).

548) Archduchess Magdalena of Austria

Archduchess Magdalena of Austria (1532 – 1590). Fourth daughter of fifteen children of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor, and his wife Anne of Bohemia and Hungary. She was the founder and first abbess of the convent in Hall in Tirol.
Two of her sisters were Joanna of Austria and Catherine of Austria.

538) Anna of Austria, Queen of Spain

Anna of Austria (1549 – 1580). Queen of Spain by marriage to her uncle, King Philip II of Spain. She was the eldest daughter of Maximilian II, Holy Roman Emperor, and Maria of Spain. Mother of Philip III. Her maternal grandparents were Isabella of Portugal and Charles V. Her paternal grandparents were King Ferdinand I and Anna of Bohemia.

531) Elisabeth of Austria

Elisabeth of Austria (1554 – 1592). Queen of France from 1570 to 1574 as the wife of King Charles IX. A member of the House of Habsburg, she was the daughter of Maximilian II, Holy Roman Emperor (son of Ferdinand I and Anna of Bohemia and Hungary), and Maria of Spain (eldest daughter of Charles V).

530) Charles II of Spain

Charles II of Spain (1661 – 1700), also known as El Hechizado or the Bewitched. Last Habsburg ruler of the Spanish Empire. He is now best remembered for his physical disabilities and the war for his throne that followed his death.
Charles was born in Madrid to Philip IV of Spain and his second wife, Mariana of Austria. Philip and Mariana were uncle and niece, making Charles their son, great-nephew and first-cousin respectively; all eight of his great-grandparents were descendants of Joanna and Philip I of Castile. The impact of this inbreeding is not fully understood; his elder sister Margaret Theresa did not appear to have the same issues.
Charles himself suffered ill-health throughout his life; he has been described as "short, lame, epileptic, senile and completely bald before 35, always on the verge of death but repeatedly baffling Christendom by continuing to live."
In his case, the so-called Habsburg lip was so pronounced he spoke and ate only with difficulty, did not learn to talk until the age of four or walk until eight. However, foreign observers such as the Marquess of Torcy noted his mental capacities remained intact.
He died childless in 1700 with no immediate Habsburg heir. His will named his successor as 16-year-old Philip of Anjou, grandson of Louis XIV and Charles's half-sister Maria Theresa. Disputes over Philip's inheritance led to the War of the Spanish Succession.
His second wife was Maria Anna of Neuburg.

525) Mary of Hungary (governor of the Netherlands)

Mary of Austria (1505 – 1558), also known as Mary of Hungary. Queen consort of Hungary and Bohemia as the wife of King Louis II, and was later Governor of the Habsburg Netherlands.
She was the daughter of Queen Joanna and King Philip I of Castile and the sister of Charles V, Isabella of Austria, Catherine of Austria and Ferdinand I.

Catherine of Austria (1507 - 1578). Queen of Portugal. Daughter of Philip I and Joanna of Castile. Her siblings were Mary of Hungary, Charles V, Isabella of Austria and Ferdinand I.

393) Isabella of Austria

Isabella of Austria (1501 - 1526). Queen of Denmark, Sweden and Norway as the wife of King Christian II. Daughter of Philip I and Joanna of Castile. Her siblings were Mary of Hungary, Charles V,  Catherine of Austria and Ferdinand I. Her children were Dorothea and John.

392) Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor

Charles V (1500 - 1558) Holy Roman Emperor. Son of Philip I and Joanna of Castile. Husband of Isabella of Portugal.His siblings were Mary of Hungary, Isabella of Austria, Catherine of Austria and Ferdinand I. His paternal grandfather was Maximilian I. Father of Philip II.
His domains spanned nearly 4 million square kilometres (1.5 million square miles), and were the first to be described as "the empire on which the sun never sets".

391) Eleanor of Austria

Eleanor of Austria (1498 - 1558), also called Eleanor of Castile. Queen consort of Portugal (1518 - 1521) and of France (1530 - 1547). Daughter of Philip I and Joanna of Castile. Her siblings were Mary of Hungary, Charles V, Isabella of Austria, Catherine of Austria and Ferdinand I.

When she was a child, Eleanor's relatives tried to marry her to the future King of England, Henry VIII, to whom she was betrothed. However, when Henry's father died and he became King, Henry decided to marry Eleanor's aunt, Catherine of Aragon. Her relatives also tried to marry her to the French Kings Louis XII or Francis I or to the Polish King Sigismund I, but nothing came of these plans.

Eleanor married her uncle by marriage, King Manuel I of Portugal, on 1518. They had two children: the Infante Charles (1520 – 1521) and the Infanta Maria (who was later one of the richest princesses of Europe). She became a widow on 13 December 1521, when Manuel died of the plague. As Queen Dowager of Portugal, Eleanor returned to the court of Charles in Spain.

The Treaty of Cambrai (1529; called La Paz de las Damas - "The Ladies' Peace") paused the conflict between Francis and Charles. It included the stipulation that the previously agreed upon marriage of Eleanor and Francis would take place. She was married to Francis in 1530 and Eleanor was crowned Queen of France on 31 May 1531. They had no children.
