Silvia Rosenberg Mann (1913 - 2008). American singer, dancer and
patron of the arts, who worked in Broadway under the name Silvia Nelson.
In 1932 she went to Philadelphia with the Earl Carroll Vanities and was
noticed by Fredric R. Mann, an industrialist and patron of the arts who
helped finance music centers in Philadelphia and Tel Aviv. They married
shortly afterwards and had five daughters. Mann's mother was poet Paula
Nelson Rosenberg, of Spanish-Portuguese descent.
