98) Isaac Bashevis Singer

Isaac Bashevis Singer (1902 – 1991). Polish-born Jewish writer in Yiddish, awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1978.

- "Although he lived in the United States for more than 50 years, Isaac Bashevis Singer, who was born in 1904 or so, will always be remembered as the red-haired boy from the house at 10 Krochmalna Street in Warsaw." https://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4612061,00.html

- "Singer was said to resemble his mother physically--small-boned, blue-eyed, and red-haired--and, some say, temperamentally; and he reverenced her all his days." http://www.weeklystandard.com/what-yiddish-says/article/5998
