Esmeralda Brandini, née Donati. She was the wife of Viviano Brandini,
mother of prominent Florentine goldsmith Michelangelo de Viviano de
Brandini and grandmother of the sculptor Baccio Bandinelli (who changed
his surname later in life).
The portrait below was painted by
Alessandro Botticelli in 1470s. One of its owners was D. G. Rossetti. It
was once suspected that the portrait was one of Ignazio Hugford II's
forgeries.
