429) Antonio Vivaldi

Antonio Vivaldi (1678 – 1741). Italian Baroque composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher and cleric. His best-known work is a series of violin concertos known as The Four Seasons.
His father Giovanni Battista as well was a renowed violinist.

- "He was ordained in 1703, aged 25, and was soon nicknamed il Prete Rosso, "The Red Priest". (Rosso is Italian for "red", and would have referred to the color of his hair, a family trait.)"
